Industrial units in the Pithampur Auto Cluster have a total yearly tooling requirement of nearly Rs. 30 crores. OEMs have tool-rooms within their plants to meet some of their basic tooling requirements; however, a large proportion of tooling is outsourced to commercial external facilities. SMEs regularly out source their tooling requirements to vendors/tool-rooms in Indore and other cities such as Pune.

PAC has setup a Modern Tool Room as part of the Pithampur Auto Cluster initiative to meet normal tooling requirements of industry.

PAC has entered into an O&M Agreement with M/s Indo Toolings Private Limited for operation & management of the Tool Room & Technical Services Centre. M/s Indo Toolings Private Limited is a Joint Venture of M/s JBM Group, SANDHAR Technologies Limited, Gurgaon, India.

Technical Services Centre

The Pithampur Auto Cluster has identified a wide range of technical services across areas like design and development, materials testing, calibration, and technical & quality advise required by the local automotive Industry. Today, industry procures a number of essential technical services (across areas such as design, calibration, materials testing) from providers in places such as Delhi, Pune and Kolkata. Services with a longer-term value such as technical consultancy for quality upgradation are frequently inaccessible to units in the cluster. PAC aims to eliminate this dependency on other industrial centres.

In pursuit of this mission PAC has decided to establish a Technical Service center at Pithampur providing the following facilities:

• Design and development center: CAD / CAM / CAE facility
• Material testing laboratory
• Calibration facility
• Quality training center for technical and accreditation training
• Technical library
